New Inspector General and IG Office Location at the 128th Published Dec. 7, 2008 By SMSgt Jeff Rohloff 128ARW/PA Milwaukee,WI -- You may have noticed a new face hanging around the Headquarters IG office lately. This smiling face belongs to LtCol Cynthia Pelegrin who assumed the duties of our Inspector General this past October. LtCol Pelegrin has held various flying positions as a KC-135 Instructor Navigator, followed by a 3 year tour in the Illinois ANG before arriving at the 128th ARW as an aircrew member in Operations. When the navigator position was phased out of the KC-135, she began work as an Admissions Liaison Officer assisting students with applications to the Air Force Academy. "I am excited to be back at the 128 ARW and look forward to getting reacquainted with the Guard family" said LtCol Pelegrin. The IG office provides an individual a means to file a grievance against his or her chain-of-command if treated unfairly. It also provides a means of guidance when a person's chain-of-command does not have the answers for an Airman's issues. The IG office looks into claims of Fraud, Waste and Abuse. The Inspector General does not actively check on or inspect each organization, but rather facilitates the communications process which relies on YOU to come to the IG's office. One important aspect that needs to be stated is that any communication with an IG is considered "Protected Communication", meaning it will NOT be revealed to the Wing Commander, your unit Commander, or anyone else in the individual's chain-of-command. Consequently, no negative action can be taken against an individual for filing a complaint with an IG. Reprisal actions against an individual for filing a complaint with an IG are grounds for a supervisor's dismissal, or even court martial. The IG office is now located in Bldg 522 (Ops), the second office just inside the mailroom. Base extension is x221, or the IG can be reached by cell at 262-510-8266.
