128th Air Refueling Wing hosts 2009 military display

The 128th Air Refueling Wing is hosting this year's military display at General Mitchell Air Field from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 9 and 10. 

The display, entitled 'Forward with Our Armed Forces,' is a free, open to the public annual event held during May as a part of the Armed Forces Week event roster. 

This year's display features a variety of aircraft representing Air Force, Army and Navy inventories and capabilities. Notable aircraft include the B-1B Lancer, B-25 'Miss Mitchell,' C-5 Galaxy, MiG-21 Fishbed, P-51 Mustang, Army UH-60 Blackhawk and Navy E-6B Mercury. 

The Young Eagles will also be on base and will offer orientation flights for children ages 8 to 17. This program is sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association, based in Oshkosh, Wis. 

Music and entertainment will be provided by the 132nd Army National Guard Band, based in Madison, Wis., and the 484th Army Reserve Band, based in Milwaukee. 

The military display will lead up to the Armed Forces Week, which will culminate with a Civic Dinner Dance here on Thursday, May 14.
