MILWAUKEE -- The 128th Air Refueling Wing deployed 13 security forces team members from here on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Family members joined the deploying Airmen during the morning hours at the 128 ARW.

Col. John Puttre, the vice commander of the 128 ARW, gave a brief farewell speech to the Airmen and their families at the small-air terminal.

Elaine Schachelmayer, the 128 ARW Airman and Family Program manager, spoke with the Airmen and their families, reassuring them that the AFP would be available to family members throughout the deployment.

The security forces Airmen spent the morning with their families, relaxing with refreshments provided by the Airman and Family Program and taking last-minute photographs.

When the time came, the Airmen gathered near the flightline, formed two lines and marched to their waiting aircraft, a KC-135R Stratotanker, as their families watched from the other side of the flightline boundary fence.

The 13 security forces team members will join four already-deployed team members at their overseas location, where they will be tasked with providing base security.
