Senior leaders of the 313th Air Expeditionary Wing hosted a "burger burn" on July 28, 2011, as a way to show appreciation for their Airmen.

Chief Master Sgt. Joseph Parlato, Command Chief, and Master Sgt. Mike Schmaling, 1st Sergeant, worked with the Services Flight to arrange for burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans and soft drinks.

"The burger burn is an opportunity to let our people know we care about them," said Parlato. "It's the camaraderie gained that has a positive impact on our people and mission."

"We try to schedule a morale event every couple of weeks," said Schmaling. "Most of this is an all-volunteer operation, so the least we can do is express our gratitude for the sacrifices these Airmen are making."

Airmen gathered behind the hangar and sat on the picnic tables to enjoy the typical American barbeque and enjoy a break from the normal routine.

More than 200 Airmen were served.
