United Service Organizations (USO) of Wisconsin opened its new lounge at General Mitchell International airport with an official ribbon cutting ceremony on September 20, 2011.

The new 800-square-foot lounge is now a special place in the airport for all veterans, troops and their families looking for a place to relax during travel or before deployment.

The lounge is located near Gate D30 and has everything from a kitchenette to computers and big screen televisions. It doesn't matter what airline or gate you're flying out of, you'll be able to get in if you're military. Many service men and women say they feel honored that they are being recognized through this effort.

"The USO is family; it's a military family", said Major General Donald P. Dunbar, the Adjutant General of Wisconsin. "So when you're a military member and you're in an airport and you see that USO sign you know you've got a warm, friendly family member that supports you."
