Brig. Gen. John McCoy, Assistant Adjutant General for Air, Wisconsin Air National Guard, visited Airmen serving with the 313th Air Expeditionary Wing Saturday, July 30, 2011, to thank them for their service and to meet with unit commanders.

Upon McCoy's arrival, he was greeted by Col. Ted Metzgar, 313th Air Expeditionary Wing commander, along with other senior staff members.

During his visit, the general spoke with Airmen during lunch and later received a mission briefing from 313th AEW senior staff members. The briefing provided McCoy with a detailed update on unit operations and Airman morale and welfare.

Metzgar and his senior staff members escorted the general on a tour of the aircraft maintenance hangar and flightline. Airmen embraced the opportunity to explain the task they were performing to support Operation Unified Protector.
