Civic Dinner Dance keynote speaker, Master Sgt. Phil Harkleroad, a finance specialist at the 128th Air Refueling, talks about his recent deployment to Afghanistan during the 32nd Annual Civic Dinner Dance, Thurs., May 17, 2012. Harkleroad, who originally deployed as a budget analyst, shifted to his duties and responsibilities to that of an engineering specialist overseeing team of Soldiers working on construction projects. When asked why he chose to deploy to Afghanistan, he replied that he wanted “to be a part of building a nation.” “I was a little part of a very big mission,” he said. “I left part of my heart there, if I could I would go back.” U.S. Air Force photo by: 2nd Lt.
