Gyro Club hosts the Sijan Awards: Milwaukee Armed Forces Week 2012
Milwaukee Armed Services Committee member, Curtis Peck, reads from a war journal kept by Sijan Award recipient Robert Wederath as Dr. Tom Buck, MASC Co-Chair looks on at the Gyro Club Luncheon Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Milwaukee Yacht Club. Wederath, who was unable to attend the awards ceremony, fought as a machine gunner in the 63rd Infantry in Belgium, France and Germany and was awarded the Bronze Star for valor under fire. The Gyro Club presents the Lance Sijan Award, in honor of Milwaukee Medal of Honor Recipient, Air Force Capt.
