The Wisconsin State Tuition Grant is available to members of the Wisconsin Air and Army National Guard. The program pays up to 100% of the actual tuition charged by a qualifying school or the maximum resident undergraduate tuition charged by the University of Wisconsin-Madison, whichever is less. The Grant may be used at approved Wisconsin schools, technical colleges or schools approved under Minnesota-Wisconsin student reciprocity agreement. There is limited reciprocity with Iowa, Illinois and Michigan schools.

Once you complete your initial training you may be eligible for the Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserve, which pays up to $407 per month while enrolled in college. The Wisconsin GI Bill is a state of Wisconsin veterans benefit program that provides tuition remission for qualifying Wisconsin veterans and certain children and spouses at Wisconsin public post-secondary educational institutions. The Wisconsin GI Bill provides tuition remission for 128 credits or 8 semesters, whichever is longer.

The Community College of the Air Force helps airmen achieve their academic goals by using on-the-job training and traditional educational programs to grant military members an Associate's Degree in Applied Science. Partnering with more than 113 affiliated Air Force technical schools, the school has more than 250,000 registered active, guard, and reserve enlisted personnel who are stationed in 37 states and 9 foreign countries. Annually it awards over 22,000 AAS degrees from approximately 71 degree programs.

Apprenticeships, on-the-job training, employment skills training and internships are all career skills programs that offer skills training opportunities to officer and enlisted service members preparing to transition from military to civilian employment.

As a Drill Status Guardsmen you'll get paid for attending drill one weekend a month and your annual training two-weeks out of the year. As a new recruit with the rank of E1 your drill pay is approximately $246.28 per month and Annual Training Base Pay is approximately $923.55. That's $3,878+ per year! Keep in mind that you will promote throughout your part-time career with the Air National Guard and this will continue grow.

Certain career fields may be eligible for cash bonuses upon enlistment.

As a member of the Wisconsin Air National Guard you may have the opportunity to become a part of the full-time National Guard force. If that's something you are interested in you can discuss options within your shop with your supervisor upon completion of your initial training.

The Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) is a tax-deferred retirement savings and investment plan that offers Federal employees the same type of savings and tax benefits that many private corporations offer their employees under 401(k) plans. By participating in the TSP, Federal employees have the opportunity to save part of their income for retirement, receive matching agency contributions, and reduce their current taxes.

The Blended Retirement System combines elements of the legacy retirement system with benefits similar to those offered in many civilian 401(k) plans. In addition to your own TSP contributions, if you opt into BRS and elect to contribute a portion of your own pay into your TSP account, your service will match up to an additional 4% of your basic pay. No matter how much you contribute of your own pay, you can only receive a maximum contribution from your service of an amount equal to 5% of your basic pay. If you enter service on or after January 1, 2018, you will begin receiving Service Matching Contributions after completing two years of service. Service members who opt into BRS will begin re4ceiving Service Matching Contributions immediately.

Service members’ Group Life Insurance (SGLI) offers low-cost term coverage to eligible service members from $50,000.00 to $400,000.00. Eligible family members are covered under Family SGLI up to $100,000.00
