Col Daniel J. Aber is the Vice Commander for the 128th Air Refueling Wing (128 ARW), Wisconsin Air National Guard located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As Vice Commander, Col Aber assists the Wing Commander in overseeing more than 850 personnel assigned to the Wing who directly support the worldwide aerial refueling mission and enable the combat employment of the unit’s ten KC- 135R Stratotankers. The 128 ARW is comprised of four groups and a Wing Headquarters element that provides ready and responsive citizen Airmen to meet state and federal worldwide mission taskings.

Col Aber attended college at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology May 2000. He commissioned through the Academy of Military Science at McGhee Tyson ANGB, Tenn. September 2000. In January 2002, Col Aber graduated from Undergraduate Pilot Training at Laughlin AFB, Texas. Over the course of his 20 years of aviation service, he has earned Aircraft Commander, Instructor and Evaluator Pilot certifications. He has logged more than 800 combat flying hours in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, UNIFIED PROTECTOR, FREEDOM SENTINEL, RESTORE HOPE and RESOLUTE SUPPORT. Throughout his career, Col Aber served in key flying Operations and aircraft Maintenance positions. Prior to assuming his current position, Col Aber was the Maintenance Group Commander at the 128 ARW.
