On The Air: Milwaukee Armed Forces Week 2012

WUWM “Lake Effect” host Mitch Teich interviews Milwaukee Armed Services Committee Co-Chairs, Coast Guard Capt. Matt Sibley, Commander, Coast Guard Sector Lake Michigan and Dr. Tom Buck at the “Lake Effect” Studios in downtown Milwaukee Tuesday, April 17, 2012.
Buck and Sibley were at the Milwaukee NPR studio to speak with Teich about “Milwaukee Armed Forces Week,” a week-long slate of events honoring the military.
The goal of MAFW is to increase the public’s understanding about the role of the military in a democratic society. MAFW is also an opportunity to honor and acknowledge Milwaukee area people serving in the Armed Forces of the United States.

Roth was selected for the 2012 Bong Award by 128th Air Refueling Wing leadership for his accomplishments, community involvement, professional development, leadership qualities, motivation of fellow military and civilian personnel, and promotion of military values.

Company, 2nd Battalion, 24th Marines, march towards the Milwaukee River to present a ceremonial wreath during a presentation concluding the “Support the Troops Ride” at the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee Sat., May 19, 2012.
The final event of Milwaukee Armed Forces Week, the ride concluded with a ceremony that included a U.S. Marine Color Guard, speeches by military and community leaders, refreshments and live music.
